Hurting Angels
I haven't seen you in awhile
I don't even know where you are
But if you were to call
I'd forgive you instantly, just to run into your arms
But as soon as the rush fades, I'll remember yesterday and ask...
How could you leave an angel, so fragile behind?
How could you hurt an angel, more than one time?
Her wings are broken, no one taught her how to fly
She's only good at soaking the sheets where she lies
A dim halo hangs above her head
"I'm always going to be there" was the the silence I thought you said
The fact you are not here is something I will never get.
