Do You Care?
Do you care about that girl?
 That girl that lies there
 covered in bruises?
 I saw you hit her.
 It’s not funny.
 That’s your daughter.
 Don’t you care?
 She came to my house
 yesterday crying.
 Your daughter’s pregnant
 with your son.
 Do you care?
 That she’s covered in bruises?
I saw the scars on her back,
 did you cause them?
 She won’t tell me
 do you care
 that she sits
 in her closet
 crying?
 No, you don’t care.
 I heard you laughing
 about those bruises,
 you don’t love
her at all, and your son?
 You’ll end up killing him.
 I heard the stories,
 yes, all of them.
She told me about her back.
Yes, I know how they got there,
 that knife in your pocket,
 you should be ashamed.
 No, you don’t care.
 That’s why I laugh
 as you get taken away
 in hard metal handcuffs.
She's safe now but you still
 don't care.
 Do you?
