The Runaway
She moves with haste as she weaves through the night
And embrace it with a kiss
Her lips soft smooth like a kid about one or two
 She moves with hasty strides
Eyes uneasy looking around for somewhere to hide
Concern the leaves in the trees blows
The wind teases against the tip of her nose
 She looks
From left to right there’s no one in sight
 A bag on her back
 Its weight
From the sorrows she keeps inside
Sirens fills the air she hides her face with her hair
Across the streets she silently say good bye
To the remains of the years not spent
 And to parents
In bed with covers over their head unaware
