I freed myself
The nights that never came
But the stars sparkled
My life was never the same
As the summer circled
Holding on wasn’t needed
Living was just easy
Neither was cheated
Everything was breezy
Time went on
I waited for that question
The first kiss gone
Then, no more compassion
You left me broken
But you left me wise
You had spoken
And all were lies
I learned a lesson
That when the lights start to dim
No more aggression
Just going off of a limb
I freed myself
We may be friends now
But I am my own self
Just don’t ask me how
