I’m from my mom.
She gave me life.
She put a roof over my head.
She feeds me.
I’m from my mom.

I’m from Newark.
A place of violence
A place where some people don’t survive
A time that is difficult.
I’m from Newark.

I’m from a family who cares.
They put me in a good school.
The help me when others can’t.
I’m from a family who cares.

I’m from a school that’s not like others.
It’s different because of religion.
It’s different because of the education.
It’s different because of the people who are around.
I’m from a school that’s not like others.
