Where I'm from
And where I'm at
Are two very different things
To know what's now
And know what's past
Is harder than it seems

I'm from long nights of endless tears
Ducking out of sight of mirrors
Masking every hate I hide
Pretending that I've never cried
Where nothing that I said was truth
Forgetting every part of youth
Hating words in every song
Not knowing what is right and wrong

But I am now in somplace good
Believing in the things I should
I have friends and all I need
With someone who loves me for me
And even though it might be sappy
I finally feel like I am happy
