Blessings
Life's true blessings,
to me,
comes in the little things
that you brush away
or don't pay attention to.
It comes in the first snowflake
that silently patters
on your roof.
It comes in the little sway
of your best friend's hand
in your direction.
It comes in the new kid in town
that you debate on talking to
but end up doing it.
It comes in the drop of a petal
off a withering flower's stem
on the last days of summer.
It comes in the lonely guy
all alone on the street
asking for change.
It comes in all these things
and though they're small,
they can really make an imprint.
