My Essence
On the surface I might appear peachy
A little tired
And happy
The little things in life bring me smiles
This is true
If you only dig two feet into me
The majority of my life
Has been a struggle against myself
I have had to push myself
To see myself
In a different light
Instead of envisioning someone who does not fit in
Will never fit in
I taught myself
To believe that my differences sculpt me
That nobody will make fun of me
For simply being
It is almost funny
How long it took me to understand
Now all I yearn to do
Is to dance away in the moonlight
That the rest of my life will be worth
The early struggle
