Butterflies
The warm crimson blood
floods my face
Indifferent on the outside
scared as hell on the inside
I close my eyes as our lips meet
for the first time
Surprised
by that warm feeling
that flows through my gut
A pleasant sparkle
set off inside me
That sends shivers
down my spine
It feels like drinking hot chocolate
on a cold winter day
I pull away suddenly
as my eyes flutter open
to see your shocked expression
Why did I do that?
Panic begins to overwhelm me
but you ignore it
Pull me close
and our lips meet once more
This time they are more familiar
smooth, buttery softness
Something I don't want to let go
But the butterflies within me
have to rest at some point
