Everyday i get up with an illusion,
maybe today I will get over my abstemious feeling.
But somehow my past keeps intruding,
and keeps me away from everything.

There was a time when I was loquacious,
and had an awestruck ardour.
But now it seems to be an airy-fairy memory,
as if I am befuddled because of beer.

I tried to keep a benevolent attitude,
But all was in vain.
As the halcyon times that i spent with you,
Kept coming before me.

To live without you is an anathema for me,
It completely smithereens my heart.
To forget you is like an avalanche,
its not as skew-whiff as it seems.

As the water keeps sloshing around
under my feet,
I can't seem to let you go.
I know I am talking like a barmy berk,
But, now there is no more i can do.

If someone ever asks,
Who was it that was being carried to the grave?
You can say with certainty,
'She loved me greatly, and before her death, she swore it anew'
