It was suppose to be simple

I was clutching the note inside my palms.
The grip grew tighter as the moment arose.
He was heading towards me now.
Oh my lord. Lordy lord.
He looked at me.
The felt the sweat inside my hand seeped into the paper.
'I hope it's not damp. That's gross.'
I needed to give it to him.
That was it.
Thousands of times, I imagined this scenario.
It was suppose to be a simple as a please or thank you.
Why couldn't I just GIVE it to him.
Oh no!
He walks away
Never knowing, never seeing
That I ever felt that way.
