Hey Child
Hey child,
you meek and innocent child,
hear the story of the proud, cruel, and lost people.
Child, hear the story and learn, interpret, understand.
Then you will laugh and never have to ask,
“Where is God?”
The people,
those proud and selfish people,
push God out of schools, governments, and lives.
Instead, the people welcome money, greed, and pleasure.
The people laugh while God cries.
Where is God?
The people,
those cruel and hateful people,
push God out of wars, politics, and thoughts.
Instead, the people welcome slaughter, pain, and torture.
The people laugh while God cries.
Where is God?
The people,
those lost and lonely people,
are hit with a bomb, a famine, a disaster.
When the money, the wars, and the thoughts become useless,
the people cry while God cries.
The people ask, “Where is God?”
So child,
you sweet and innocent child,
please learn, interpret, understand.
Please put God into your life, your mind, your heart.
Only then will God laugh because there, in your heart,
is where God is.
