Oblong china plates are
stacked neatly on the wooden table.

My mother's hot pink baking gloves,
her soft, starchy, splattered apron,
bread puffing from the yeast,
cinnamon chocolatey goodness ensnares my senses.

The crumbs sit on folded napkins
embroidered with flowers and
angels that smile at us.

The author's comments:
There is beauty in everyday life. I find that baking cinnamon chocolate bread with my mom is something so simple yet so very beautiful.
