The sun rose sleepily out of the sea
Kissing the sky
Turning it scarlet and orange
The waves lapped hungrily at your legs
Smacking you in the face
‘Good Morning!’ It crowed ‘Wake up!’
A heavy rod weighed your tired arms down
Waiting to hook a fish
The victory of the first catch warms the waters
As the sun gravitated upwards
You began to sweat
The bait soon ran low
Until it was time to head home
‘Goodnight, Sea.’ You murmured groggily
‘Goodnight.’ It whispered back
