"Gracias Dios"
She walks to the church
In the late afternoon,
To say her weekly prayer for her daughter
Whom she misses so dearly.
"Por favor Dios" Please God.
"Yo solo quiero su espalda" I just want her back.
A silent tear glides down her face,
She raises her head to the ceiling,
Looking for an answer, or a sign,
Hoping He heard.
She sighs.
She walks out the church,
As it starts to rain,
Having no umbrella to shield from the rain,
She walks onto the quiet path,
Bordered with trees that loom over the street.
"Por favor Dios" Please God.
She reaches the end of the street,
And she looks up as she realizes
It stopped raining and she sees the sun peek through the clouds.
She smiles up at the sky
And whispers "Gracias Dios." Thank you God
