In the backseat of your mamas car
Head laying in my lap
I can’t think of anything else
But your soft breath on my body,
your
fingers
into
mine,
laced
together,
wondering if you can feel the butterflies
that are swooping up the walls of my throat.
But I don’t ask.
Just simply listen to your heartbeat against mine.
