Drops of Violet
The world I know is dark
It's always been that way
From the very start
Every single day
The world I know is cold
It has no warming light
Cold in the morning
And cold in the night
I sit here all alone
Year after year
Talking on a phone
To the static in my ear
I am like a shadow
A face that's never seen
A light that doesn't glow
That's who I've always been
I was always empty
I was always dark
Until I felt the light
Of her glowing heart
She shines like amethyst
A radiant violet hue
A dazzling warmth
That rips my world in two
It tears away the sorrows
It wipes away the pain
It pulls me from the shadows
Of a world filled with rain
Drops of her purple light
Stain the deep dark black
Of my soul cast in the silence
Of the never ending night
