I Left Myself With You
I left myself with you.
You watched me from the doorway,
Fingers running along the seams of your pockets and a couple of teeth pinning lips
And I went away, hours and days,
Miles and months.
States knew my name
Streets tasted my body as I went along
Lights and rain, sun and breezes
I made eye contact and never let go.
I left myself with you.
The majority of my being, body and soul, thoughts and eye contact
Stayed tied in the seams of your pockets.
