&quot; If you feel as if you are only a drop in the ocean, that ocean would be less without that one drop.&quot;<br /> -Mother Teresa

In a wooden chestnut colored wardrobe
lays a purple silk scarf on the top shelf
My aunt always wore it near her earlobes
The scarf made her look like she was made of wealth
Now, only her purple scarf remains
The soft scarf that laughs without a care flowing freely
I saved it from the damp boxes out in the rain
My mother doesn't know because she's always sleepy
She won't eat because auntie is her only thought
I worry for her because soon she'll starve
I also wonder if I will be like my aunt or not
the way she sculpted and carved
how she gave to others generously
She knew how to dance in the rain
She lived life happily
Now that she's gone it causes me great pain
I want her here, but I guess she can't be
Life is different, and it can't be the same
I have her scarf, and it means much to me
It's all that's left of aunt Ebony
Her purple scarf contains all her memories

Thank you Violin_Lover1996, that is what I was aiming for, the purple scarf to symbolize the memories that are important to the character, but also makes them sad by missing their aunt.

I love this one. So sincere, yet very lingering and sad. One scarf contains many memories. <3
