What I’m Looking For; What I’ve Found
You ask me what I’m looking for,
And I answer simply:
Someone with a good smile,
He’s strong enough for both of us,
But knows I’m there for him.
He has dark brown eyes,
Or possibly green.
He’s intelligent and kind,
Gracious, civil, and courteous.
He respects me,
But still wants to hold me close.
He sees my beauty,
When I don’t see it myself.
He knows how to laugh with his eyes,
And heart as well.
He says good morning and
Good night everyday.
He knows when to give me space,
And still comfort me with words.
He holds my hand every chance he gets,
And never wants to let go.
It tears him apart when I leave,
And makes him realize how lucky he is,
When I come home.
He kisses me tenderly,
Attempting to hide the yearning beneath.
He is always there for me,
And I; him.
You ask me what I’m looking for,
And I simply answer:
You.
