What was once Great
Fog lingers on the old school grounds
the school is falling apart like an old book.
the building dances with the wind
Bricks have fallen out of place,
vines and plants have taken over
coming in through the ceiling and floor.
The school grounds is an over grown forest,
trees stand firm in the athletic fields,
saplings are just beginning to sprout.
Deer stroll through the once great football fields,
the animals have made their homes here.
The school has withered away,
but the forest stayed.
The memories remain
to be resurrected another day.
