How do you Know Your Loved
A hug
 That’s how I know
When I feel the soft flesh
 Wrapping around me
When I can hear their breathing
When I know he just wants me to stay

 I can hear his heart
 Boom boom boom

 I can feel her breathing
 In out in out

And I feel the smile on my lips

 That’s how I know
 When I feel
 Safe, comforted, happy

A hug is all I want
 Nothing else

That is why I repel them

 One should not treat something
 So sacred
 So lightly

When you give someone a hug
 Your hearts are the closest
 They will ever be

 But

 They can be dangerous
 A hug shows trust
Because you are so close to their heart

If you want to cause them harm
A hug is the way to get your victim close

 Like all other sacred acts
 A hug has been
 Destroyed
 Like ancient temples
 Being burned

 But

 I still treasure them
 When I feel a hug
 I know I’m loved
 I know I’m special
 For a few seconds
I’m removed from a battle field
And I’m a princess once again
 And I know
 The sacrifice
 That one has given me
