Word Layers
all we ever seem to do
is talk over each other.
layer upon layer upon layer
of meaningful words.
words that no one ever hears
but we all want to say, anyway.
why do we do this to ourselves
why do we discount each other like this?
are my words not good enough for you
and yours despicable to me?
no--
absolutely not.
I’m worth something
and you’re worth something
and our words are all
worth something.
so why do we make them meaningless?
