Coping
We’ve gotten bad, bad news
News that we can’t fix
We don’t know what to do,
How to make this better
Any of the six of us, the seven really, so
One has taken the analytical approach
Putting all the good things and the bad things in
their place
One has taken the frantic approach
Forgetting and remembering and talking
One has taken the denial approach
It isn’t happening, we don’t have to do anything
One has taken the clever approach
Using this tragedy as an excuse
One has taken the sleepless approach
Not knowing how to approach it at all
One has taken the reconciliation approach
Trying to make ends meet and things match
And the seventh
Is sleeping
