Fly Away
Sometimes I look into the sky
 And want to fly away
But I didn't have the wings
To take me among the clouds

 So I searched the earth
 In every crack and cranny
But even though I looked so hard
My wings were nowhere to be found

 I sat a long time
 Looking into the sky
Longing to drift above the trees
And gaze upon life below me

I knew I would remain unhappy
 Until that wonderful day
When I felt the freedom of a bird
 Soaring high above the world

The day came after much patience
 And almost losing faith
But I held fast to my beliefs
And the hope that I would fly away

 Now I have my wings
To take me among the clouds
 Gazing upon life below me
 And soaring above the world
