its bright and cheery
but dark and dreary
split into two sides
at an endless war
one is happy
the other sad
separate only by a single door
the door to our mind
the door to our soul
we lose ourselves
to one or the other
the darkness or the light
the light is the brighter
but the darkness the fighter
its a war the will last
until they unite
to become one
brains with the brawn
to the path
that is neither right nor wrong
is a struggle of which we must deal
for our bodies and minds to heal
and finally become one
neither dark nor light
but both to be had
when we are finally done
the war will be won
not by one or the other
but by both for peace in each other
the mind can now be ONE
the battle of the mind
