Hello, My Name Is Wallflower
Hello,
my name is Wallflower.
I’m haunted by a quiet personal way.
I shout with softness and a lighter touch
and I’m accustomed to being seen as invisible.
Most people may think that I want to fade into the background,
but I’m more than just a vibrant shadow.
I look for truth and beauty from every angle of my world.
I celebrate extraordinary art-filled spaces,
not the bland black-and-white box.
I’m a crossword puzzle disguised as a blank canvas.
I might not be bold and rambunctious from dawn to dark,
but
my talent and desire and mind sometimes sound like a percussion section –
snap, crackle, pop!
Though I may be quiet, I keep my passion and madness
and cluttered inner calm with me wherever I go,
and I could create some simply sparkling after dinner conversation.
So tell me –
can you hear me now?
