Today you have nothing but
respectful silence
to use against me.
I've nothing for which to feel
remorse
or self-hatred;
I just sat and listened.
Sat, nodded, and listened.
“Yes, you're right–”
the nod implied–
“I'm such a fool.
My, I should change!
Change my dark ways!”
My heart's at peace,
though I've not budged
or changed who I am.
This time you have nothing
but silence.
