You think you know me
You think you know me,
with my blue moon stare.
You think you know me,
with my yellow golden hair.
You believe you can see
what’s beneath my curly head,
but you do not see the sadness in my eyes
or the tears that I shed.
All you see
is perfect me,
and nothing more.
You only see my lies,
but you don’t despise.
You think I have nothing to hide,
YOU’RE WRONG!!
My past’s a secret.
I fill it with lies.
You think I’m happy,
but then why am I singing this sad lullaby.
If you knew me,
then you’d know I’m filled with dread,
That when I sing,
I sing of the dead.
If you knew me
you’d have tears in your eyes,
you’d sigh in exasperation,
and say…. “OH MY!’’
You’d think of me a weak sad girl.
You would not think of me as the brave carefree girl.
I am who I am and nothing more
