Take Me Home
Tremendous wings
soaring through the sky.
Nicknamed Birdwing
because of the size.
Bright greens, purples
and blues catch their gaze.
Finding me there,
in Australia,
by the blue skies,
by the golden sand.
Dozens of us
happy and alive.
People wanting,
taking us from home.
Being traded,
collected like gold.
And now our homes
are destroyed, can someone
keep us alive?
The heat is so hot,
the wind so strong.
Please, help us survive.
Please, help us live.
Efforts to protect,
can they help us?
I want to go home.
Back far away,
back to the big trees,
back to the sand.
