Maybe, Just Maybe
In a world where we all long for freedom
Why do we clip our own wings?
Why do we stay on the ground
In fear of fragile, vulnerable things?

 We hide it,
 We hide it,
Oh, we hide it so well.

 All the pain
 All the heartache
All the secrets we never tell.

 Our lives are so full
 Of unspoken promises
And of whispers no one hears
 Of quiet glances,
 Wasted chances
 And biting, silent fears

 If only we could say
What is written in our hearts
Have the strength to be ourselves
And not just actors playing parts

 If only we could admit
What we always try to hide
 Then maybe
 Just maybe
 We’d stop feeling
     So broken inside
