Staying free,
Free from the dangers of the past,
Living in the now,
Embracing me, my life,
Everyday will be a struggle,
The road will be full of temptations, triggers, reminders,
If the hurt comes back, or tests me again,
Then I’ll look back at the feeling
Of the weight lifted off my shoulders ,
The worry gone,
I won’t let myself go back to those days, old ways,
I’ll remain free, and finally become the real me.
