I Watch
I watch
from my bedroom window
as the summer sun set
causing the sky
to look like the mounds
of Sherbet ice cream
I let melt in my blow
I watch
as they all blend together
when I swirl
my spoon around
the bowl
I watch
as the beautiful colors in the sky
fade to a dark blue shade
the ice cream and sky
no longer look alike
I set the bowl aside
not wanting to see
the bright melted goo
I watch
when the stars begin
to tear through
the dark blue infinite sky
