Can You?

Driving down a country road,
Wind blowing through my hair.
Running across the green grass,
With feet so fresh and bare.
Can you see me, Daddy?

Flowers popping out of stems,
With bright and pretty hues.
Purple, yellow, orange,
Red, white, and blue.
Can you see them, Daddy?

Snow covering the ground,
And stripped winter trees.
Everything is quiet,
So blows the winter breeze.
Can you see it, Daddy?

Dancing around my room,
Singing crazy songs.
Putting things back,
Where they belong.
Can you see me, Daddy?

Curled up in the corner,
Tears racing down my chin.
Facing fears,
Hidden deep within.
Can you see me, Daddy?

Standing on the beach,
Searching for buried delights.
Relaxing on the sand,
On warm Florida nights.
Can you see me, Daddy?

Trying to be strong,
And keep myself collected.
The worries inside me,
So safely protected.
Can you see me, Daddy?

Missing you wherever I look,
And wishing you were here.
But knowing you're in heaven,
A world of hope without fear.
Can you see me, Daddy?

So can you see me Daddy,
As I live each day?
Knowing life is great,
And that we'll be okay.

I bet you can,
I bet you're always there.
Keeping a close eye,
No matter where.

I know you see me Daddy,
Every time I smile, laugh, or cry.
I know you hear me too,
Even if you can't reply.

I wrote this poem though,
So that I could make it clear.
That even if I think not,
You always see me here.
