This Girl.
I once knew this girl,
with lovely eyes that glowed like the sea.
She was the greatest thing, to me.
We would talk about television shows, videogames, and songs.
With her, I could do no wrong.
I once knew this girl,
and she never could look in a mirror.
And she wouldn't see herself, like I saw her.
All she saw were flaws,
while I saw strength.
And I would admire her every day.
I once knew this girl,
who I learned more about every day.
And as she talked,
I would stop and listen,
to show her it's okay.
And I hoped to one day take her pain away.
I knew this girl,
who would make me smile like no one else.
She could make me laugh,
when there was pain.
And she'd chase all the storm clouds away.
I still know this girl,
who has felt pain.
Who'd let it wash over her,
like a hard rain.
And I swore to myself,
I'd never let her drown.
Cause she deserves those nice words,
and those grand gestures.
She deserved smiles,
and scrunched noses.
She deserves kisses,
even on her bad days,
and a hand to hold when the pain won't go away,
and for someone to listen to every amazing thing she has to say.
Because, she is wonderful,
and amazing,
and great.
And deserves a full house,
and not to fold.
To be held, when it's cold.
For someone to be there,
For every story told.
This is a girl,
That I will always know.
