Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, but I&#039;m not sure about the first one<br /> -Albert Einstein

hands so quick, nimble lilt

rising, falling, melody quilt

a tall man has been made quite lame

hunched now over finger’s game

the world round has now been lost

the die of music has been tossed

a swirling, flowing, weeping tune

earth at night, day in June

but every zenith dies a death

this one sinks with labored breath

ivory patterns cease entrance

no more tonight will these notes dance

the day is done, the night is long

the man now leaves, soaked in song

Man and Piano

It's a "fade" poem, as are some of my other poems. The idea is to take a relatively simple piece of life and illuminate the innate and hidden life of the object.
