There is a calm before storm,
There is time before cloth is torn.
There is a child before a man,
There is the sea before the sand.
There is the dirt before the mud,
There is the soap before the suds.
There is a pup before a hound,
There is a rock before the ground.
There is a word before a book,
There is a fish before a hook.
There is a spider before a web,
There is a flow before an ebb.
There is a clock before the tic,
There is love before the romantic.
There is a seed before the flower,
There is a minute before the hour.
There is a mystery before the clue,
But I was nothing until I met you.

Admittedly, this is a childish poem, but I intended to have a light tone. I wrote this for my soon to be born baby brother/sister. It's meant to be read to a little child. :)
