"Dream Like You'd Die Tomorrow"

Clothed trees:
sun-orange, rosy-red, blue-gold
against a peerless sky
filled with bird-song.

Streams from wide-mouthed oceans,
rings of life in saplings,
creatures veiled below, discovered above,
ground of earth; clay of the world.

Naked trees:
shivering arms, torn limbs
dressed in coats of white –
slumbering life.

Lanterns raised to night;
wishes flying in air.
Short days of wind and fire,
glow of promise in the eyes.

Blossoming trees:
flowers pop in bursts
of colour to blush
before the climbing sun.

Sprouting seeds peek in secret
– stirring, growing, breathing.
Rearing heads and blooming stems
stretch toward the rays.

Sun-brown trees:
warm bark and boughs
of leafy green
bear fruit, juicy-ripe.

Halves entwined as one,
a child is begotten
through ageless dance
into this world of transience.
