heart of ashes
I have felt love's harsh sting.
Cupid's bow did hit me,
and struck down my all to willing heart.
By those who play doctor,
my prescription was time.
For time to stitch back the pieces.
Theses pieces must be ashes,
because for all the time I wait,
for all the pursuers I take unto to carry my mind away,
the time hasn't helped.
Ashes to ashes,
needle to thread.
Time isn't working,
maybe death will instead.
