The Emotions of The Ocean
The waves crash around in the angry, black sea.
“The wind is too strong,” it says, as the waves crash harder and harder.
Along the shore line kids are playing on the white sand
building sand castles as the dark storm rolls in.
The waves get higher and rougher,
as they crash onto the sand washing away all of the children’s hard work.
The children run for cover as the rain starts to fall,
like teardrops falling from the dark angry clouds.
Watching from under umbrellas the children start to cry,
as they watch their sandcastles get washed away into the roaring water.
Lightning strikes, thunder booms.
The rain falls heavier.
The wind gets stronger.
The waves overtake the white sands of the beach, and the mothers run to their cars.
As they drive away, the children watch from the rain stained windows,
longing for the sand between their toes,
Asking, “Mommy, can you make the ocean not be angry anymore?”
