Poetry Is
Poetry is expression
It is the thoughts that inhabit our mind and the feelings that inhabit our heart
Poetry is pain
Poetry is joy
Poetry is every dark thought that lurks in the dampest corners of our ill minds
In poetry we find relief
Poetry is a creative outlet away from the pain and hardships of our gruesome reality
Poetry is the ink that stains our paper and flows like crimson blood from open wounds
Poetry is the sentence, the lines, and the exclamation point we use to express our anger
the question marks that explain our wonder
or the absence of punctuation, that leaves our fear of the unknown
in poetry we find strength
in poetry we find safety
poetry is the blood
the tears
the pain
and the fear
