dear father
Dear father
the man I never knew
you only stuck around
until I turned two
you tried to come again
but it should have been more often
those cries that came from you
my mother had to soften
the pillows soaked and wet
I tried not to cry
when I was little
I thought I was nothing in your eyes
dear father
you remember the seventh grade
I had to go the hospital
I didn't wake up until the next day
of course we didn't hear from you
I didn't expect it
I laid in my bed
at least my mom came quick
you were never there
you let two men take your place
one was so much better
and the other a similar mistake
Dear father
I'm a senior now
not like you would have noticed
since you don't pay attention to your child
today I'm so much stronger
its how my mom raised me
If you saw me now
what would your words be
"I'm so proud baby girl"
or "you know daddy loves you"
"I'll be right here girl"
or "keep up all you do"
I have so many hopes for the future
and I don't need a dad at all
don't try to come back now
I will rise, now you will fall
Dear father
the man left me to my mother
I will take care of her
but you have to find another
time slips away
your getting old and weak
I cant help you now
you will not depend on me
oh father
you don't like my little game
its a b**** called karma
let me teach you how to play
you left me as child
you didn't help me to grow
when you do bad to others
you will reap what you sow
