Fire in my veins
June 15, 2013
I went to bed
with fire in my veins.
I awoke to a world
sheathed in ice.
It was so very beautiful
in a poignant kind of way.
And then I remembered
that you don’t love me.
I watched as the world
took on a desolate tinge.
But this ice will melt,
perhaps your heart will too.
And I,
I will be here waiting
with fire in my veins.
