undesired
i dreamt you were a house and your polluted lungs coughed from the chimney
you welcomed me in with your hands in the door frame and i ran my fingers along the photos on the wall, collecting things about you no one else knew
your thoughts spilled on carpets and ran down walls, but none of them had to do with me
and when i found your heart in the fireplace, it was covered in the dark and cold
and i knew you'd saved the fire for a different girl
to me you were a house but no matter how bad i craved it, you'd never be my home
