A Writer's Art
With simple paper as my canvas,
A pencil as my brush,
My thoughts as paint,
And a desk as my easel,
I begin my artwork.
Covering the page with dark marks of letters,
Accents of punctuation,
And emotion in the story.
This is what my work portrays.
No spectrum of colors can be found on this paper,
The fantastic array is hidden,
Deep within the black and white,
Is where the rainbow lies.
My work is done at last,
Now it sits, just as an exhibit,
Waiting, hoping, for someone to appreciate it.
