Seriously?
You ask me if I'm alright
For I seem very serious today
Brow furrowed
Eyes keen
A face as if carved
From stony marble
I recline upon the coffee colored
Leather couch in the library
And even I can see
The resemblance
To a therapy patient
Ensconced in the serious study
Surrounded by cultured artifacts
The large jade Buddha
An ornate Oriental screen
And dusty bottles of
Unopened Spanish wine
I appear to be thoughtful
Pondering the state of the world
And other things like that
You don't realize it's an
Unintentional facade
Really I'm just lying here
Wondering how the
Mr. Boston bartenders' guide
Ended up among the
Thoughtful books
On the ponderous bookcase
