Is there a place where our nightmares go?
A far off land of ghouls and gore,
A hidden place that humans dare not search for,
A palace of teeth that only the haunted and insane may enter,
Where goblins ghosts and gremlins gobble endless platters of flesh,
Where stuffed animals bite and everything has eyes,
A land where our worst fears reside,
A resting place for the things that go bump in the night,
Killers and demons sip cracked cups of blood on decrepit terraces,
Skeletons drink whiskey and play poker in the parlor,
Red eyed dogs bark and run wildly through the dark streets,
Is there a home for the creepy things?
Do Michael Myers and Jeepers Creepers play chess on Sundays?
While Jeff the killer gives “makeovers” to his roommates,
And Norman Bates grills steaks for supper,
Bloody Mary brushes her hair in the bathroom,
Deadites gyrate to devilish music composed by Jack the ripper,
The werewolves and vampires roam the streets and argue on weather Ginger Snaps or Buffy is the more superior program,
Were carnival music booms endlessly through the speakers of beat up record players,
And Everyone's smile is warped and strange,
Haunted mansions and secluded cabins,
Phantom moans and rattling chains,
Were the people never wash the blood from their clothes and they all have rotting bits of candy stuck to their teeth,
The lights always flicker and the walls ooze with slime,
A bubble of darkness untouched by time,
Have you ever seen such a place?
In your dreams perhaps?
Did your nightmares let you take a peek into their twisted world?
Did they to tell you it wasn't so scary down there?
Have you seen were the nightmares go?
And when they let you gaze down upon the strange land,
Did you smile with delight,
As you stared down at such a wonderful sight,
Did you nod your head and give them your hand,
Did you let them take you to the nightmare land?
