&ldquo; How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.&rdquo; <br /> ― Henry David Thoreau

Hush child, go to sleep
Do not cry, do not weep
If it’s not blood, it’s not deep
I know this feeling is something I can’t keep
Cherish

I’ve told you one, I’ve told you twice
The end washes everything away
But in the downfall be prepared to see my vice
I alone will stay
Asphyxiation

The fiery flames of the hearth
The cries of the hopeless
Wickedness bequeaths birth
Sanguine fluid engulfs the motionless
Damned

Mortally wounded in my arms, reality says you were never mine
Set to collapse, armors cracked
Daybreak dies as the bloodless stars shine
Our implied suicide pact
Verisimilitude
Honest to the infernal strain
All-encompassing prisms drag me into another realm
Suppress the spatial continuity to be slain
The future no longer illuminated by the eternal helm
Insanity

One last breath
This foreboding endeavor
One slow death
A desperate and destitute nightmare forever
Oblivion

I like this poem a lot. There's so much imagery in it! I like the way that you ended each stanza with a different word that sort of increases in intensity. That's a technique I've never seen before. Awesome work!

What an elegant, enchanting poem! "...Reality says you were never mine." Oh, do you realize how much a poem can affect others? :) Its beautiful, and its probably one of my favorite poems on Teenink. "Daybreak dies as the bloodless stars shine.." Gives me the chills :) Wonderful imagery is present here and your writer's voice is crystal clear. You have a talent worth sharing, my firend. So keep writing and do everyone a favor ;)
