Exile
We thought we were right.
We thought we could win
Against our powerful enemies,
By straying from our path.
But as a man once said,
“How could we?”
We thought we had help
From fallen enemies.
To help us win this war
Against the new threats.
But as a man once said,
“How could we?”
We thought we were strong
That by our strength we won battles
That we could take on,
everyone at once.
But as a man once said,
“How could we?”
So now we are defeated.
Taken away from our home,
To a place that is unfamiliar,
To a people that are unknown.
And we wish that that man would say,
"How could we?"
