My Poisonous Prince
My poisonous prince with his harrowing eyes
and his jet-black hair, disheveled and ragged.
He rides on the back of his nightmarish steed,
it’s coat, the ebony color of a raging monsoon.
His pearly white blade stained a deep red damask,
sits safely concealed, yearning for sanguinary battle.
The gilded hilt with sparkling virescent stones inlaid,
obtrudes slightly from the sheath, glimmering faintly.
He rides through the savage and eldritch woodland,
making his way through spinous trees and underbrush.
While daytime fades, and the early signs of nightfall arrive,
shadowy figures and tenebrous shapes lurk all around,
quivering and twitching in a silent macabre dance
My prince, he rides without any fear on his face,
only dour resolution to finish his arduous quest.
